Super Salad Packed Lunch to feed starved essay brain.

I've been recycling this salad formula for weeks now and it never fails to impress me. Mixed herb salad, feta, halved or quartered grapes, avocado and SEEDS. I also added salami to this one. And a bit of olive oil and vinegar. Super tasty. But what really makes this salad sparkly fantastic are the seeds - sunflower, sesame and almond flakes. Maybe even more if I could afford them. But toasted they are transformed from greyish unappealingness to divine smelling and golden brown. Yum yum.

Pre essay breakfast - Pancakes, banana, raspberry yoghurt and toasted almonds.

This is perhaps the ultimate brain breakfast. The pancakes fill you up for ages because of the oats and the raspberry yoghurt, honey, almonds and banana make it super freaking tasty. What more could you want? Hopefully this will start me off on enough of a good foot that I can crack this essay and finish it by tonight. Only three more to go afterwards....

Alun's Mum's Pancake recipe.
2oz/50g porridge oats
2oz/50g plain wholemeal flour (I used plain white)
1tbsp caster sugar
1/2tsp bicarbonate of soda
3/4tsp cream of tartar
1 egg
about 1/3pint of milk
butter to fry - makes for better colour and tastier taste

Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Mix the egg with some milk and add to the dry ingredients, mixing with a fork until combined and smooth.
Add more milk if you need to.

Tina, Bryan and post Valentine's night in = happy Florence

Hope you all had a pleasant Valentine's day yesterday, whatever you were up to and whoever you were with. Seems to me that simple is best when it comes to almost all aspects of life and thats how I kept it yesterday. Alun and I stayed in with a large and tasty pizza, bottle of red and No Country For Old Men. Nothing like a bit of the Cohen Brothers' grimness to draw the romance out of you. Anyway, it was what the doctor ordered.

Here's a bit of cheese to keep you on a high, or at least it does me.
